Connecticut Juvenile Training
School Middletown, CT

The State of Connecticut decided in May 1999 to build
a modern juvenile training school to replace its
outdated Long Lane School. TBI Construction
Company, LLC was selected to be the construction
manager.
The CJTS construction was a major challenge to TBI
Construction. The company recognized its obligation to
create an institution for Connecticut’s adjudicated
children that would both remove them from society and
prepare them for positive re-entry. TBI
Construction assembled a team with expertise in
construction, corrections and education.
The result is a campus that will meet the goal of
providing educational opportunities to some of
Connecticut’s most challenging children while blending
in aesthetically with the surrounding community.
