Gates Building Renovation and Addition

TBI Construction Company, LLC has formed a design build partnership with Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc of New Britain, Connecticut for design and construction services to renovate the historic Gates Building in downtown New Britain.

TBI Construction is in the process of renovating  and adding on to the historic Gates Building. The project consists of the renovation and restoration of the six story, 37,000 square foot existing building and construction of a six story, 12,000 square foot addition. New mechanical, electrical, data and communications systems are also being installed to bring this 19th century landmark into the 21st century. Renovation of the exterior of the building will restore the façade and the existing masonry to its original appearance. The project is being constructed to house the New Britain Board of Education and will include the Superintendent's offices and meeting and boardrooms.

Completion is scheduled for summer of 2003.
